First meeting with your REALTOR

First meeting with your REALTOR

If you are planning to meet with a real estate agent or realtor for the first time, there are several things that you should keep in mind to make the most of your meeting:

  1. Be prepared:

Before you meet with the realtor, it's a good idea to have some basic information about your real estate needs, such as your budget, location preferences, and any specific features you are looking for in a property. This will help the realtor understand your needs and preferences better. I have put together a buyer’s quiz for my clients to take to figure out what their needs and wants are to help them prepare to buy their next home.

  2. Ask questions:

Don't be afraid to ask questions during the meeting. Ask about the realtor's experience and qualifications, their knowledge of the local market, and their approach to finding and showing properties. You may also want to ask about how they intent to communicate with you throughout the process.

  3. Be honest:

Be honest about your budget and your needs. This will help the realtor find properties that are a good fit for you and your budget. I am here to help you, not judge you. I help people on the whole spectrum from first time buyers, first time sellers, repeat buyers, investors, all cash buyers, buyers that are receiving closing or down payment assistance. It doesn’t matter. My role is to help you get what you want.

  4. Listen to their advice:

The realtor will have valuable insights into the local real estate market, pricing trends, and other important factors that can affect your property search. Listen to their advice and take it into consideration when making decisions. I have a fiduciary responsibility to you and your best interest so I open up my Rolodex of partners to help you buy your property. This service doesn’t expire once you settle on your real estate purchase. I am your go-to resource forever.

  5. Take notes:

Take notes during the meeting, especially if the realtor provides you with important information or advice. This will help you remember important details later on. This will also spark questions once we aren’t face to face and you are combing through your notes. So that takes us back to #2, ask the questions!

Overall, the initial meeting with a realtor is an important opportunity to establish a rapport, communicate your needs and preferences, and get valuable advice about the local real estate market. By being prepared, asking questions, being honest, listening to their advice, and taking notes, you can make the most of this meeting and set yourself up for a successful property search.
